On Thursday, February 2nd, 2017, New Americans Initiative hosted an event for the general public to learn more on Trump’s Executive Order (EO) barring refugees and particular immigrants from entering the United States.

90 Days | Nonimmigrant and Immigrant Visas (students, workers, visitors, new immigrants) |
120 Days | All Refugees (except minority religious groups) |
Indefinitely | All Syrian Refugees |
Case-by-Case | Green Card Holders and Special Immigrants (including Iraqi translators or interpreters for the military) |
Not Affected | Dual Nationals and Diplomats |

Nation-wide Stay Implemented:
The day after the event, a nation-wide stay was issued on Trump’s EO by U.S. District Court Judge James L. Robart of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Learn more…
